R.I.Z.Z. LAW, LLC ("R.I.Z.Z. LAW," "we," "us," or "our") operates R.I.Z.Z. Runway, the internal legal practice-management platform our firm uses to represent clients. This Privacy Policy explains what information the platform collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you, including how we handle data accessed through connected services such as Intuit QuickBooks Online.
This policy applies to the R.I.Z.Z. Runway application and the information processed within it, including information our authorized personnel enter while providing legal services and financial data accessed from an accounting system a firm administrator chooses to connect. It does not govern third-party websites or services that maintain their own privacy policies.
We collect the information needed to run our practice and represent our clients: account and personnel details for the authorized staff who use the platform (names, email addresses, phone numbers, roles, and authentication data); client and matter information our staff record in the course of representation (contact details, case facts, correspondence, and documents); financial and accounting information accessed from a connected QuickBooks Online company for recording firm-approved transactions; records of calls, text messages, and emails exchanged about client matters; and standard technical data such as device and browser information, IP address, and activity timestamps used to operate and secure the platform.
We use this information to provide, administer, and improve our legal services and case management; to record firm-approved accounting entries in a connected QuickBooks Online company; to communicate with clients, prospective clients, and third parties about matters; to secure the platform and prevent misuse; and to comply with our legal, regulatory, and professional-responsibility obligations. We do not sell personal information.
Connecting QuickBooks Online is optional and is initiated only by a firm administrator through a secure Intuit-hosted authorization flow. We request only the QuickBooks Accounting scope, and we use that access solely to record firm-approved deposit and disbursement transactions relating to client and firm funds. Nothing posts automatically: every accounting entry is staged for a bookkeeper to review and approve before it is written to QuickBooks. We do not sell QuickBooks data or use it for advertising or any purpose unrelated to the firm's bookkeeping. An administrator can disconnect at any time from the platform's Integrations settings or from within QuickBooks, which revokes our access. Your use of QuickBooks Online is also governed by Intuit's own terms and privacy policy.
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers who operate the platform on our behalf and process data solely to provide their service, including Intuit (QuickBooks Online), Twilio (calls and text messaging), Microsoft (business email), eSignatures.com (electronic signatures), Cloudflare (encrypted file storage), Supabase (database), and Railway (application hosting); when required by law, court order, or the rules governing our profession; and when a client or authorized person directs us to share information as part of representing them.
Information is stored on reputable United States-based cloud infrastructure. We protect data in transit using industry-standard encryption, restrict access to authorized personnel on a least-privilege basis, and store third-party access tokens (such as QuickBooks credentials) securely on our servers, never in the browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain information for as long as needed to provide legal services and to meet our legal, regulatory, and professional-responsibility obligations, after which it is deleted or archived in accordance with our records policies. QuickBooks access tokens are retained only while the connection is active and are removed when it is disconnected.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, subject to our legal and professional obligations. An administrator may disconnect any third-party integration, including QuickBooks Online, at any time. You may opt out of text messages by replying STOP and of marketing email using the unsubscribe link. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights over your personal information; contact us to exercise them.
The platform is intended for use by our authorized personnel and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
